Freedom Renewal Centre, a new outreach project of St. Luke's United Church in Tantallon, is hosting a free lunch and film day for local seniors.
When: Monday, Feb. 6 from 11:30 am til 3:30 pm.
Where: St. Luke’s United Church, Tantallon. Go down the left-side driveway and enter through the first side door.
We will be serving a light lunch and inviting you to join us in a viewing of "Young at Heart".

St Margaret's Bay Wine Makers Club. (SMBWMC) A group of us from around SMB gather every couple of months to evaluate and exchange our home made wine. Unicorn Theatre's Saturday Morning Club Winter/Spring Session starts up February 4 and continues February 18 and March 3, 17 and 31. Membership is open to boys and girls in Grades 1-5. The Saturday Morning Club provides an exciting but low-pressure introduction to Unicorn Theatre, offering a selection of stand-alone workshops on such topics as Theatre Games, Musical Theatre, Improv, Physical Theatre, Singing, Props, Puppetry and Mime. The membership fee is $20 for the session of five meetings, and there are also dues of $2 each time the member comes. Weds. Feb 15. The St.Margaret's Bay Gardening Club will meet at the Tantallon Library at 7pm. Our guest speaker will be George Macphail, "The Rose Man". He will be speaking on his hybrid specialty, the Elmsdale Rose. Let George's passion and experience help you take the fear out of growing roses. Members and guests welcome. Talented Halifax musicians Ian Sherwood and Norma MacDonald will take the "stage" at 7:30 for a night of up-tempo folk/pop/country music. Seats are already being booked. The second annual Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts - with the slogan Celebrate Art! is now being planned for July 12th through 22nd 2012. Some of the events for this summer include a kick off gala on the 12th of July, "Paint Peggy's Cove" on July 14th and 15th, and the Studio Tour on July 21st and 22nd. A big concert at St. Luke's is scheduled for the evening of July 21st, with performers to be announced. With a Board of Directors in place, the next step is establishing non-profit status (in the works) and applying for grants to further extend marketing activities and sustain festival events. PCAFA is now offering memberships in the organization, as well as various sponsorship levels for individuals and/or businesses. For just $10.00 you can become a community supporter. This entitles you to a small discount on some of the festival events, and placement on our mailing list so that you can stay informed. Other levels of sponsorship are outlined on our membership form, so just e-mail Paula Fredericks at paula.cornucopiamarketing@gmail.com if you would like to be sent a form by e-mail. A mailing address will be provided for its return. Cheques should be made payable to Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts.
